Wife Of Ika South LG Chairman Holds First Medical Outreach

In a significant gesture to improve the health status of the people, the wife of the Executive Chairman and First Lady of Ika South Local Government Area, Mrs Efechukwu Ehiwarior, has undertaken a one day grassroots medical outreach.

The event, which comes under the auspices of her foundation, ‘Here For You’, which was also officially launched same day, attracted people from across the local government area.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, praised his wife for the noble initiative, describing it as a positive engagement that would have far- reaching effects on the health and social lives of the people.

He emphasised that the exercise was in line with his administration’s commitment to human capital development, and appreciated his wife for the initiative.

“I want to thank my dear my wife for embarking on this wonderful charity initiative that focuses on human capital development, empowering lives and putting smiles on the faces of our people,” the Chairman stated.


Engr. Ehiwarior, while urging the beneficiaries to take their medications seriously, opined that good health was the the greatest treasure anyone could have.

Earlier, wife of the Chairman and founder of the Here For You Foundation, Mrs Efechukwu Ehiwarior, disclosed that the idea to set up the foundation was borne out of her strong desire to touch lives.

“The desire to touch lives and spread love necessitated this move. We are glad it is finally a reality,” she said.

Mrs Ehiwarior expressed gratitude to the First Lady of Delta State, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, for what she described as ” her exemplary leadership style and for charging us to toe same path”

She also appreciated her husband, the Executive Chairman of Ika South LG, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior for “his support and kindness that made this a reality.”

She expressed optimism that through the foundation more lives would be touched and empowered.

The event featured free malaria tests, and treatment, free eye tests, dispensing of eye lenses, diagnosis and treatment, free blood pressure and blood sugar level checks and treatment, physiotherapy care and counselling.
